Ithaca # 6 hanging library clock. The dial is similar to the one used by Ithaca on their pricey Melrose models-the cartouched Ithaca dial. It is a majestic clock which would beautify any wall. Original finish except for the lower segment. The clock was used as a mantel clock at one time. The segment was removed & probably discarded. It was replaced by a recent one. The match is good but the finish can be made a little grungier. The clock looks good as is & I never botd. On the left upper side one of the decorative corners had pulled off & has been reglued. It does not show in real life & I have left things alone. The area can be easily be cleaned. Dials, rollers, movements, pendulums & hands, etc....are beautiful. 1/2 & 1 hour strike. The top of the crest may have been broken at one time but it looks so good that I did not noticed it until I started taking close up pictures for eBay. Again, I am being complete as I can in my description. This clock has not been used for years. Everything works but I would suggest a cleaning & oiling with adjustment of the day/date/month perpetual calendar mechanism. Everything works well at the present but you are purchasing a mechanical clock made in the 1880's, 128 years ago, & you should take that into consideration.
