Iver Rose Impressionist Oil On Board (1899-1972) "The Pretzel Vendor" SIGNED
Up for auction is this Vintage and Original Oil on Board Painting by American Impressionist Iver Rose. I titled it The Pretzel Vendor as there was no name associated with it. It would appear to be one of his earlier works because of his Depression era influences and how they played into his artwork. The painting without the frame measures 25" x 10-3/4" and with the frame it measures 30" X 15-1/2". This is an exceptionally clean painting with no signs of smoke or other contamination. Under blacklight there were no signs of restoration or touch-ups. The frame appears original and does have some small dings but is a great period piece. I will include a brief biography of the artist taken from the Cape Ann Museum in Gloucester, Mass. " Iver Rose was born in Chicago at the turn of the 19th century. His introduction to art was through a drawing class at Hull-House, one of this country's best known social settlements, which was established in 1889 in the heart of Chicago's densely populated Near West Side neighborhood.
