Ives s.n. 58.1 quaint unmarked cast iron cap shooter in nickel plated finish with floral scroll work on the grips and a large flower design. All Ives toy guns are rare. Two stars for rarity in Best and Logans. SS / SA / CAP / REV. 4 1/2 inches in length. Manufactured 1882. Rarer even still in the nickel plating. Most of these now are without finish. It has a crack on the right side above the flower but is still very tight. Still works and will fire a cap, but will not stay cocked unless you apply pressure to the back of the trigger after cocking. See pictures. Listed s.n. 58.1 in Cast Iron Toy Guns and Capshooters by Samuel H. Logan and Charles W. Best. This is an excellent collectors piece and is SATISFACTION GUARANTEED.
