Ivory Bone 7" Cigarette Holder Antique Hand Carved Exc
Oriental hand carved bone or ivory cigarette holder, just less than 7" long and 7/16" diameter at the fattest part. It is certainly old but age and origins unknown. No mark or signature, definitely used, has a nice patina, smoke stains. This piece has a very slight curve to it, perhaps whale bone?? Basically ivory color with very pale yellowish veining or striations. I admit to little knowledge of the genre, but this is very interesting, with detailed carving of flowers that covers all sides of the holder in a section 2-1/2" long. Flattened shape at mouth end, shows some wear. No cracks, floral carving may have very minor damage, I cannot tell! A fine piece, unusual length.
