Two 18th C, Continental ivory cases, #1 - coffin shaped ivory etui with lift off top, incised cartouches decorated with warrior and shield on one side, verso a man with scythe, the top has cartouches depicting a woman holding a heart and verso a woman holding an object, sides are decorated with oval floral cartouches, overall checkerboard pattern surrounds cartouches, round ivory handles on sides through which a string would be threaded to hold together, 3 5/8''L x 2''W x 1''D, some warping and chipping, #2 - coffin shaped case which opens to reveal two separate compartments, incised cartouches with bird decoration surrounded by checkerboard pattern, 3''L x 1 5/8''W x 1/2''D, good condition. From a Connecticut estate.
