is an old set of bells made by the J.C. Deagan Co. from Chicago. They were likely used on either a train or ship to signal that it was time for dinner. I would guess they are at least 75 years old. T are 5 total notes (most I've seen online only have 4). T is a stamp on the back that reads "Deagan Plate Chime No.131". The notes sound terrific and have a long ring. An old mallet to strike the chimes is included in the auction. T is plating wear on the notes from playing. It appears that t was some kind of label on the back, perhaps made of paper, that came off. T is also some cracks in the thin wood veener on the back. T are two hooks on the back that would allow this to be hung on a wall. Maybe this was rubbed against a wall which would explain why t is more wear on the back. In any case, it seems like a nice collectors item. Buyer to pay $15 shipping within the mainland USA. Paypal preferred. Thanks!
