DESCRIPTION : You are bidding an SUPERLATIVE sterling silver bracelet that was handwrought in Taxco, Mexico, before 1948, by renowned silversmith maestro, J. FLORES. This bracelet is masterfully in a classically gorgeous Taxco design with a wonderful art deco flair. It consists of six very thick incised silver links with deeply chased designs, scroll flourishes and silver bead accents ~ spectacular design and workmanship! The LInks are pin hinged internally which gives this bracelet fabulous design flow. The clasp is a tongue and box closure that works perfectly and closes with a crisp 'click' ~ t is an attached safety chain. This is a timelessly elegant Taxco bracelet ~ very classical ~ designed and handwrought by silver maestro J. FLORES ~ this is a signed and fully hallmarked piece ~ it is extremely well made ~ supreme collector/museum/heirloom quality ~ simply, THE BEST! SIZE: Inside circumference when closed is 7-1/2", width is 1", and the weight is 88 grams. CONDITION : Superior vintage condition ~ no dings/dents to the silverwork ~ no damage noted ~ just about PERFECT! HALLMARKS : "J FLORES, 925, TAXCO, MEX". J FLORES and this identical hallmark (photo F-14) is shown on page 66 of Bille Hougart's highly respected source book, The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks (2006 edition). Mr. Hougart indicates that Maestro Flores used the Eagle assay marks 1 and 3 ~ this piece does not have an Eagle assay mark so it was most likely made prior to 1948, when the Mexican government mandated the use of the Eagle marking system for silver jewelry. PL EASE NOTE: Mexican vintage si lver jewelry is hand wrought, and tfore, not perfectly symmetrical ~ each piece will have variances that indicate that the piece is hand made ~ this does not constitute damage. Please look at all of the photos provided as they are a part of the description. Vintage pieces will show various signs of wear since they have been pre-loved ~ items are described to the best of my ability and any known damage will be noted.
