DESCRIPTION : This is a SUPER STUPENDOUS sterling silver cuff bracelet that was handwrought in Taxco, Mexico, circa 1930's to early 1940's, by silversmith maestro, J. GOMEZ. It is masterfully crafted in an organic motif with an art nouveau flair ~ the repousse silverwork is extraordinary with swirling designs that make me think of ocean waves ~ the silver is oxidized which highlights the designs beautifully. This type of cuff is referred to as a clamper cuff ~ it is a hinged design and the hinge is tight (ie, when you pull one side in the front and let go, it clamps shut) and functions perfectly. This is a classically elegant and timeless vintage bracelet ~ it is extremely well made and is a very collectible, signed J. GOMEZ Taxco silver cuff. A must have for the new or seasoned collector! This would make a grand Christmas present OR treat yourself!!! SIZE: Inside circumference when closed is 6-1/2" but will fit larger due to design (I have a 5-3/4" wrist so I wore this cuff further up my arm about an inch above my wrist bone), width in front is 4", width in back is 1", and weight is 59 grams. CONDITION : Superior vintage condition ~ no dings/dents to repousse silverwork which is amazing for a piece that is almost 70 years old ~ no damage noted ~ warm, soft patina to the silver (could be polished to a brilliant shine if new owner
