This is a piece of ORIGINAL ART by the fan favorite JEFF SCOTT CAMPBELL. Once one of the most popular artists in the field of comics, and has dominated the comic scene with hits like GEN 13 and DANGER GIRL. Let's be honest, Jeff's career is a little bit of a slump right now. Don't get me wrong he is still one of my favorite artists, and honestly I don't think anyone can touch him when he brings his A game. The good news is, is that he is about to hit it BIG again. With WILDSIDERZ finishing up this year (quoted from him at Wizard World LA) and his new SPIDERMAN comic coming the end of this year or beginning of next year, expect his slump to be ancient history in a short time. This is an amazing piece that I can't believe I have to let it part. As a ORIGINAL ART COLLECTOR you couldn't ask for a better piece by the amazing J SCOTT CAMPBELL. I remember reading issue 5 and getting to that page 22 with the coolest thing I think I ever saw in comics. The black hammer mech opened up to reveal a total Campbell hottie with such incredible detail I couldn't believe my eyes. And, to be honored to be the possessor of the ORIGINAL ART of that very page thrilled me to no end. Again it kills me to have to let this go. The page layout is incredible with a doe eyed Caitlin and rest of the bunch looking upward, to the build up to the opening of the mech couldn't be better. As a comic historian, this page features actual HAND LETTERING and sound effect lettering that has become a thing of the past. However, it allows the displayer to see the entire piece of craftmanship as one black and white piece. As a ORIGINAL ART INVESTOR you couldn't ask for a better investment. Look at the artwork of Jim Lee before he hit big again with Batman. Prices of his original art tripled overnight. History will repeat itself with CAMPBELL SPIDERMAN coming in the not so distant future. I wish I could wait to sell it when demand is higher, but you can soundly purchase something today that you know you could flip for a higher price. Let me tell you what you all get. You get the ORIGINAL 11x17 artwork that was penciled by J SCOTT CAMPBELL and inked by Alex Garner. You get the ORIGINAL color guide as done by Wendy Fonts. This was a reduced 8 1/2 x 11 print of the original piece that was HAND colored with marker and colored pencils. This was then used as the guide for the computer colorists to do the final piece. I always intended to frame together these two pieces together, which would look awesome. You also get a vellum of the computer hatching found on the inside of the mech. This is currently taped to the backside of the 11x17 board, but it is included. I've never seen a piece of original artwork paired with the color guide, and don't expect to see this for sale again. Best luck bidding!! The piece will be shipped with in water tight bag and a rigid backer board. I will send it priority mail in cardboard box sleeve with delivery confirmation.
