BELLE OF LINCOLN DECANTER ~ Date of Release 1979 "Before 1871 the area that comprises Lynchburg and portions of Moore County was part of the larger Lincoln County, and "Belle of Lincoln" was one of the earliest names Jack Daniel sold his whiskey under. Mr. Jack a lifelong bachelor, but carried the reputation of being quite the "ladies man." After his death, at least a dozen bereaved women claimed to be the "Belle." While none of the original "Belle" decanters are known to exist, this 1.75 liter reproduction was based on surviving descriptions. A 1.5-liter version was also produced for the international markets." Please refer to the photos for the condition of the box and the tax seal. Please notice that there is wax melted onto the top of the neck. I am told this is to prevent evaporation. This wax is also discolored due to another bottle leaking its contents onto the Belle box. This decanter belonged to my father who was a collector of Jack Daniel memorabilia. I have held on to his collection for 15 years and am now ready to let another collector enjoy it properly. I am not interested in being greedy, but would like to be accurate with my description/estimated value of this collection and its many bottles. If you feel I have incorrectly described this bottle please feel free to contact me through this post. I look forward to read more
