On September 14, 1923, over 85,000 fans packed New York's Polo Grounds to watch American champion Jack Dempsey take on Argentinian challenger Luis Firpo. The fans were stunned, as their hero was at the brink - but after he re-entered the ring, the comeback was on.
The fantastic work of legendary artist George Bellows truly captures the excitement of the moment, and the Roaring '20s Art Deco style of the times.
