Wonderful circa 1963 Hallmark Christmas cards entitled "Glad Tidings" which were based upon a watercolor painting done by Mrs. John F. Kennedy. The painting depicts the angel Gabriel blowing his horn. This is one of two cards for which Mrs. Kennedy did paintings. The other is entitled "The Journey of the Magi" and is also being offered for sale today! The proceeds from the sale of these cards were used to raise funds for the then-named National Cultural Center. In honor of the late President Kennedy, the Center was renamed the Kennedy Center for the Arts.Included are the original box with its plastic cover (slightly yellowed with age), 15 cards in very good unused condition, 14 envelopes (the glue of some have become stuck in a small area on each- these could easily be 'unstuck'), a donation envelope for the National Cultural Center, and the descriptive divider which elaborates on the cards and the Center.Shipping will be USPS Priority mail. Insurance is optional. I make every effort to ship within 24 hours of the end of auction, barring weekends and blizzards! Please email any questions prior to bidding. Thanks for looking!!
