Jackson China ‘ The Blue Moon ’ Airbrushed Platter – SO RARE! Extremely rare 1946 to 1950s era top-marked9 3/4” x 8” platter made for ' The Blue Moon' Café /Restaurant. This is one of the most captivating restaurant china patterns ever produced—featuring wolves howling at ‘ The Blue Moon .’ What makes this china pattern so appealing and sought after are the absolutely spectacular vintage airbrushed graphics. Take a close look at the clever ‘man in the moon’ faces in the word ‘ Moon .’ Made by the Jackson China Co. that was located in Falls Creek, Pennsylvania, it bears the 1946–1965 era backstamp (per Barbara Conroy’s Restaurant China Vol. 2). No cracks or chips. It does have moderate utensil wear but looks stunning! To the best of our knowledge, it has not yet been determined where this pattern was originally used. The Restaurant Ware Collector’s Network has not yet identified this pattern on their website. Pieces of this ‘ The Blue Moon ’ china pattern are truly seldom seen; rarely appear for sale on eBay or other sources, and have been aggressively sought after by restaurant ware collectors for many years. The pieces we are offering were purchased together long ago from a single source and we have only seen one other piece for sale since then. It really is quite scarce.
