THE VIERA GALLERY is pleased to offer a NEPHRITE JADE TIGER FIGURINE MING DYNASTY CERT. OF AUTHENTICITY An outstanding nephrite jade tiger figurine. A rich caramel color with areas of buff, beautifully carved, richly polished. The subtle color variations of natural jade are evident. Extremely hard stone (steel will not scratch this piece), heavy for its size, cool and waxy to the touch, all hallmarks of authentic jade. The design is realistic and understated, unlike other Ming pieces that are often overly ornate. The carving is masterful with all parts in correct proportion, cleanly executed with careful working of the natural color variations in the jade into the design. Both ears are buff, for example. Pristine condition with no nicks, chips or scratches. 7 in/18 cm from nose to tail, 2.5 in/6.2 cm across the flanks, 3.5 in/9 cm paws to crown. Weight 1 lb 7 oz/ 660 gm. Certificate of authenticity from former owner will be provided. A marvelous figurine you will be proud to display or give to that descriminating special someone.
