This is a great example of an circa 1910 Orion model putter, which was designed by five-time British Open champion James Braid (won in 1901,05,06,08,10). The Orion has a dot punched face & a large flange with the shaft & hosel being flat on the front side of the club(see photo). Most of Braid's clubs were made by Gibson of Kinghorn, Scotland & then stamped with with Braid's name. The flange on this club is stamped "The Orion James Braid"(see photo) with a Manchester, England mark for the retailer of this club. The bottom of the head has a faint Star, which was Gibson's cleekmark. Club has a sound shaft with an intact original grip & secure whipping. It is a very nice antique play or display club that is being offered with NO RESERVE. Please email any questions. Add $9.50 for shipping in U.S. Insurance at your option. Will ship worldwide.
