This shell has been drilled and powder removed making it harmless. Very rare James Birdcage Civil War Artillery shell. This is a fine example, with no broken fins and fuse intact. Found many years ago near Scott City Missouri which is along the Mississippi River, it was used as a door stop in a general store in that area for many years and at that time it still had the powder ( I personally had it drilled and disabled after I purchased the shell)This is a fine example and museum quality. 3 1/2" and about 10 lb
