This unusual silver topped hip flask measures 110mm (4.5") x 75mm (3") x 25mm (1") and weighs 261 grams. It is hallmarked to the lid with the lion passant for sterling silver and the duty mark for Queen Victoria as well as the makers mark for the famous firm of James Dixon & Sons. It dates to the 1870's - 80's and has a glass body covered in top quality leather with a viewing slot to each side and the screw top lid has a safety chain attached. It is in good usable antique condition and as you would expect from Dixon's has a real quality feel about it. An unusual hip flask from the best maker of the period sold with no reserve.
