A superb James Macintyre water jug in Imari palette with pewter lid. This beautiful Art Nouveau jug was made in Burslem in 1902 - it can be accurately dated by the registration number stamped underneath, R39967. It also has a stamped mark for the Macintyre factory. It is approx 6 3/4in (17.5cm) tall and extensively decorated with beautiful intense blue, lavish gilding and red/ pink against a white background. Condition is good - no cracks or chips, and there is no crazing nor signs of restoration. There is however some rubbing to the gilding although this does not detract overall in my opinion.
