A rare porcelain masterpiece by Emily Kaufman titled "Elizabeth's Surprise" and was sold exclusively through The Franklin Mint. Elizabeth Bennet, the spirited heroine of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, prepares to dance with the snobbish and arrogant Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy. It's a marvelous scene from the novel, captured in a fine porcelain sculpture by artist Emily Kaufman. The sculpture is carefully washed with color and delicately hand painted. Dressed in a pale lavender Empire style gown with full length evening gloves. Her porcelain fan and the separate metal candelabra are each richly plated with gold.
