This is special. It is a bracelet once belonging to the greatest female Rock and Roll singer ever : Janis Joplin. Janis bought this bracelet in one of the haunts on Haight Street in San Francisco she frequented. No, it isn't diamonds and dripping with wealth...rather, it's quite a simple (but in my opinion, an "ugly" bracelet.) Janis wore whatever she wanted to wear. And she loved accessories! This is a heavy bracelet...gold tone teardrop ball shapes in between overly large pearls. Normal size bracelet; Monet (yes, Monet has been around for many many years-and Janis owned more than one piece of Monet!) The little rectangular Monet tag is still on this bracelet....it appears so clean and new it is as if she never wore it. But she did. I was with her the day she bought it. It was autumn; and it was on Haight Street in San Francisco; and I am almost certain it was 1966. Sometimes I thought Janis bought so much stuff from a lady named Peggy (who ran a botique) that I think she single-handedly made Peggy rich ! The CHEAP THRILLS album (it's signed by Janis) I put in the in photo for "effect" is also going to be for sale soon-I have HIV/AIDS and it's time to start unloading possessions--besides, I could use the money to help me with bills. I'm one of those people who will never get out of debt! How did I get the bracelet? I was a friend of Janis Joplin. She gave it to me....she gave me several things. Ordinarily, I would NEVER part with any item Janis ever gave me. It would be kind of like selling your old Woodstock tickets; if you know what I mean. Almost sacrilege. But Janis would understand if she were still ..she'd be hugging me and telling me things would be ok; while trying to get me to take a slug of whiskey! I am sorry I cannot reveal my identity at this time/nor will it be revealed. (Possibly to the buyer.) I'd rather the San Francisco Examiner NOT run a full length front pager on a dying Janis Joplin friend. I am hurting enough as it is. The shipping will be free on this item ONLY in the USA. Hey, thanks. And PEACE PEACE PEACE !
