Old Japan ~ Glass Lantern Slide, Fancy Arch, 1900. #120 I have a small number of 3.1/4" x 3.1/4" glass magic lantern slides of old Japan, many interesting landscape and domestic scenes. The slides are hand-coloured and are undamaged unless otherwise stated. However, having been stored for a good number of years many of the edge bindings have become semi-detached and in a few cases one or two are missing. The black framing is a thin black paper mask sandwiched between the two glass panes that form the lantern slide.The slides mostly do not have any form of identification though a quick look at the internet has turned up the name Kusakabe Kimbei as the photographer for some of the images. This auction is for one slide, actual item is shown above. Black edging missing from one side. I am happy to combine shipping so if you purchase more than one image then please wait until I have packed so that I can send you an accurate quote.
