LARGER JAPANESE VINTAGE FABULOUSLY MARBELED BRONZE VASE
This is part of the description from the previously sold Crane Neck Vase, Item No.270241465009 since they are the SAME!! Except I found this BIG ONE at the Charitable Bazaar w Expats and Embassy folks donate things! This one is HEAVY and about 9 inches tall and about 8 inches across the widest part. It has what looks like the Makers Mark on the bottom, but it is a perfect match for the Crane Neck vase and could very well be its Big Brother!! IT HAS VERY UNIQUE MARBELING OR, AS I USED TO SAY BEFORE I KNEW BETTER, 'FIGURATIONS' ON IT THAT I HAVE NEVER SEEN AND WOULD NEVER UNDERSTAND HOW IT COULD BE DONE. SO I TRIED AND TRIED TO PHOTO HOW IT CHANGES!! YES, THE DESIGN CHANGES AS YOU SLIGHTLY TURN IT. IT IS SO UNUSUAL, IT COULD BE CALLED SPOOKY. T is a very fine and detailed maze of these Figurations that look to be a few milimeters deep under the surface and as it turns in the light, a larger design floats over and looks like flowers and that covers the small ones underneath. It is fantastic to plat with this vase and see an endless, non repeating variety of design patterns as they change! Even the Dealer did not understand. And I did not explain too much or he might have kept it. He did say it was made before WWII, which I totally disagree with. It is Hand Made and signed. It has the perfect proportions from centuries past. The local Pottery Shop owner friend was even shocked as she had never seen this either. I wonder if others have ever seen such a thing on these vases. Thank You All and please check what all else I can discover in Japan.
