The makers of samurai swords turned to the making of these blades during the Meiji Era (1868 - 1912) when sword making became illegal. It was made by the master Japanese blademaker, T---- (see signature photo 2) in the tradition of the samurai sword with laminated forged high carbon steel that holds an edge like no other in the world. Comeperable blades are still made in Japan today by master blade makers for prices from $350 to $600 but I prefer this kamisori for its 100 year history and character. Truly a piece of traditional Japanese history and fine read more
