You are bidding on a very nice soldier diary that belonged to Takahashi Masao of the Quartermaster branch of service. He was born in Meiji 38 (1905), year of the great victory over the Russians. He joined the Army in Taisho 14 (1925). He served two years then was complete with his full time service. In Showa 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 (1928, 30, 32, 34, 36) he participated in bi-annual call ups of the reserve forces. Now it get interesting: In June 1945 he was called up as part of the 300th Provisional Unit and went to Ichikawa for training. On 10 June he boarded a troop ship and sailed to Oshima (lucky to have survived that trip at this time of the war), He arrived on 12 June 1945 and drilled with his unit. No more entires, but presumably they waited for the invasion that never came. By 12 August the war would be over. The book also includes some other interesting items. Business cards from him and some friends and most interesting, a 5-sen note. This is an amount of money smaller than 1 Yen (which is worth less than one US cent). No longer in circulation. Items guarenteed original. Buy multiple items and save on shipping/handling.
