This is a very fine signed Japanese bronze jardinière with decoration on each side done in relief. The jardinière is 10 inches tall and 11 ½ inches in diameter. One side of the piece has a bird, maybe a bird of paradise and two turtles. The other side has a large flower among some leaves. On one of the leaves is perched some type of insect. Based on the type of decoration we are dating this circa 1885. The piece is signed by the metalworker on the side. On the bottom of the inside of the piece is a family crest or Mon. The piece is beautifully decorated and will make a wonderful addition to any collection. The piece is in very good condition with no damage.
