JAPANESE/CHINESE RABBIT TUREEN 20thc ? LARGE AND HANDPAINTED. is a very large stoneware Rabbit Tureen, made I believe during the 20thc, but stand to be corrected. (I have categorised it as Chinese and Japanese, because it has Japanese dragons and flowers and I believe a Chinese seal mark ?) I tend to lean towards Chinese but am happy to be corrected. The ground is creamy/orange/pink with highly detailed and wellpainted brown/orange dragons. The flowers (Chrysanthemums ? ) are painted in bright enamels. T is a yellow enamel collar and rim band and a blue tail. The inside and base has a green/blue glaze. Dimensions - 9" (230mm) to top of head. 15.5" (392mm) long. 9" (230mm) wide WEIGHT - 4kg unpackaged so overseas postage will not be cheap !!!! Backstamp - The base has an impressed and painted seal mark (see picture). Condition - Light age crazing, and a fine tight hairline in the base, (very hard to see) No other damage or restoration. None of the aforementioned detracts. ********* Sorry about picture quality, please ask I have plenty more. Please ask any questions early, and see my returns policy for peace of mind when bidding. Postage at cost, Please note - this item is located in the UK, airmail postage to the USA is £70.35 (Surface mail would a cheaper option, but take longer.) and within the UK is £9.97. Payment by £'s Sterling cheque preferred, Paypal from overseas buyers. Foreign currency cheque welcome with addition of £10 to cover bank conversion charges.
