An extremely rare form in Meiji cloisonne.
Signed with the Inaba "baseball" trademark.
Circular form gently rising to rim.
Beautifully enameled fire lotus in an array of colors. Set amidst scrolling vine. Deep sky blue background. The design taken from centuries old Ming Chinese cloisonne.
Thick well cast twin wrapped vine overhead handle. Centre with additional entwined wrapping. Rising from the original screw and bolt. The underside with designs as well and the Inaba trademark.
This fine Inaba Japanese cloisonne basket is 8 1/2 inches and 6 inches tall. Heavy weight.
Excellent condition. The enamels remain vibrant in color. Retains the original bound wrapping to handle.
