Antique Japanese Imperial Army Dish: 1st Sino Japanese War Condition As shown in the pictures, t is no chips, no cracks. It's very good condition. Size Dia. 4.4"(11.2cm) x H 0.7"(1.7cm) Age Meiji Era (around D.C. 1900) Description of item This is a very rare & historical dish of the 1st Sino- Japanese War (1894-1895). Brave opposed landing across Yalu River done on October 24, 1894, by the 18th Infantry Regiment of Japanese imperial army headed by Colonel Sato are handpainted. Colonel Sato is known as the most brave solider, who did battle in the 1st Sino-Japanese War. On the right side, "18 Rentai Cho, Sato Taisa (The captain of the 18th Infantry Regiment, Colonel Sato)" & on the left side, "Oh-ryokko (Yalu River)" are written in Japanese Kanji. This dish was made around 1900, shortly after the 1st Sino War.
