Item/Description: after consulting with a Japanese collector, he said that this is a very large Imari charger, from the mid 19th cen. What makes this one different is that it has 12 panels, 4 of which have the painted dragon. It is unusual to find the dragon in Japanese Imari plates. The plate has the wonderful under glaze colors of cobalt blue, Imari red, green, orange all with a gold trim. The inside is of floral design. I've seen a charger similar to this for over $6000, so my asking price is almost a give away!!!! Age/Period: mid 19th cen Manufacturer/Identification/Markings: none, but there are blue leaves on the underside Material(s): porcelain, Quantity: 1 Measurements 13 1/4" Condition: Very good, especially for it's age. Some minor wear of the gold around the rim, typical flaws in early Oriental porcelain(pinholes, uneven coloring in decoration)
