Vintage Japanese Buddhist Kuridashiihai. My family recently imported this authentic item directly from Japan. Kuridashiihai are used for remembering loved ones who have passed and are often displayed in the family Butsudan. The top comes off and thin pieces of wood are inserted and the name and age of lost loved ones is inscribed. This Kuridashiihai comes with 7 blank pieces of wood and one black lacquered. This is not a Zushi, which is meant to house Buddhist figures. The black lacquer and gold paint are in good condition. All the hardware (hinges etc.) are in good working order. This lovely Kuridashiihai dates to the mid-Showa period, and is in good condition, considering it's vintage. It measures 9 inches tall, 3 3/4 inches wide and 2 1/2 inchesdeep. I WILL COMBINE SHIPPING ON ITEMS WHEN POSSIBLE TO KEEP COSTS ECONOMICAL. Please click on photos to enlarge .
