Please see the picture, this is genuine WWII. It is a Sarute' or loop for attaching the rank tassel. It is the "brass" type, i think this is the style used on Navy officer's swords (in contrast to the more copper color on army swords) These are quite often missing. This example is one of the better ones i have seen, the detail is very good. It is a great opportunity to repair or complete a WWIIJapanese sword. Additionally it would be good to have as a spare as parts are harder tofind all the time.
