If you like super quality Japanese, German, Italian and American military bringbacks, watch for my collection items which will sell in the weeks ahead. This is a 100% original Japanese "PAPA" Nambu holster. It is a really nice holster and is a vet bringback & family estate purchase. It is a nice even dark brown color and the leather is in really good shape. The cover shall is hard (exactly as issued). The rest of the holster is pliable as issued. There are a few very light scratches on the shell. The securing strap is solid and only shows one surface crack. The hinge piece of leather holding the outside shell to the body is in really good condition. It has one very small tear along edge, maybe 1/4" (if that). the shoulder strap loops are perfect as is most of the stitching. (There is no shoulder strap with this holster). All 16 cartridge loops are intact and perfect. There is a cleaning tool in the internal loops. There are a couple Japanese symbols under shell but they are only partial. The only negative I can say is that the upper block that separates the pistol from clip is gone. The bottom block to hold the barrel is in place. The stitching on both sides of the holster, holding the top block in, is gone. It almost appears that someone had intentionally removed the block. As crazy as it sounds, that is what it appears. The entire holster truthfully shows less than average wear. The stitching that holds that one block is the only stitching that is not PERFECT! The ammo pouch is in nice shape and at the bottom is some original cloth for patch making and barrel cleaning. If you need a "PAPA" Nambu holster, this could easily be repaired but if it were me, I would leave it as is. The family said it came from the Aleutian Islands, Alaska.
