This is a relist. Low starting price! Up for auction is a real handforged and water tempered Gendaito (Katana) in old wartime polish and in good condition. The mei reads SHO SHIN SHI KANE MUNE . This well known smith is listed in Sloughs book on page 50. T are NO arsenal stamps anyw on the blade. Hamon is a nioi based wide notare with few visible nie. Hada seems to be a tight masame but hard to tell. Boshi is very well made ko-maru . Nagasa (cutting edge) is 60,5 cm or 24 inches (tip to mune-machi). Overall length is 88 cm or 34 1⁄2 inches (tip to kashira). I guarantee that t are no fatal flaws like hagire, umegane, shinae, etc! Just light scratches and some thin spider web rust on the very surface of the blade. T are no bends and the cutting edge is still sharp (not razor sharp). Koshirae is in very good condition. The wrapping on the handle is super tight. T are just some tiny chips to the saya. Unfortunately the saya was not made for this blade and is a bit too big. A very good light, and well balanced blade for Iaido, Tameshigiri or Collection. If you have any questions or need additional pictures just ask. I will answer every mail as good as I can.
