This auction is for the pictured original Japanese Military Samurai Sword that was brought back to the United Stated by a U.S. service person after World War Two. This sword's total length, tip to end of grip is 36 1/2 inches. The blade on this sword is approximately 28 inches long. The saya or scabbard is 29 1/4 inches long. The tsuba on this sword is magnetic (iron) and very detailed. The blade is straight with no cracks or break throughs. The grip is a textured "dimpled" metal. This sword is NOT signed. This item came out of my late Grandfather's collection. My grandafther was a lifetime collector of arms, armor and other antiquities. This item and others listed at this time were obtained by my Grandfather during the many years he spent at the local American Legion Post #105 and at the gun club meetings held t See attached photograph of the auction book w a portion of his world renown collection was sold.
