Wonderfully detailed Hand Painted Yellow Japanese Meiji Taisho Period Satsuma Tea Pot adorned with a Karako Motif and lavish amounts of gold The Japanese term ‘karako’ refers to small Chinese children as they are portrayed in Japanese art. Karako can represent the wish to have a male successor who will gain high social status The teapot has its original Bamboo handle with a fine patina. A signature of the artist is under the lid. The is some wear of gold on spout and a small chip on the rim of the teapot under the lid which doesn't detract from the beauty of the piece. Measures: 7" across and approximately 8" high from base to top of handle. I'm happy to provide additional photos of information at your request Posted with eBay Mobile
