Amazing, antique, Satsuma footed urn, koro or jar in a gorgeous blue ground with white blossoms and copper and gold accents. Polychrome details with fine, beaded enamel moriage decoration. Some luster on handles, feet, finial and lid rim. Elaborate design, pedestal base, footed, intricate handles and finial on lid. In excellent condition with no damage to body of urn, except for the fine crazing and crackling and wear to the gold. Although the cover or lid has a shaved chip on underside and another small chip on the rim, please see photos 8, 9 & 10. Also see photos 8 and 10 for possible signatures...? T is some writing on the rim of the urn and also on the cover by the shaved chip. This may be a piece by Taizan, who was known for using this particular shade of blue, called Mazarine blue. The Taizan family was noted for the introduction of Mazarine blue, used for painting patterns as well as a background color. If anyone has any information, I would certainly like to hear from you. It stands 9 3/4" high to tip of finial on lid and is 7 1/4" from handle to handle. Almost all my auctions start at $9.99 with no reserve. This is not an indication of quality or authenticity. I enjoy giving everyone the opportunity to bid on an item if they like it. I purchase my items from estate sales and auctions and have excellent feedback on my quality items. Please use calculator in ad to determine shipping charge. International buyers must Thanks for looking!
