Japanese Scroll Calligraphy - Hanya Shingyo (Heart Sutra) This Japanese scroll calligraphy is the heart sutra, one of the most well-read and chanted sutras in Buddhism, particularly Zen (though it is revered across many schools of Buddhism). This Heart sutra bears the seals of RYUSENIN temple complex, which is on Koya-san in Wakayama prefecture. So this heart sutra was brushed at a temple of Shingon-shu, tantric Buddhism. Size: 44 cm by 194 cm in total. The canvas is 33 cm by 130 cm. This piece is in rather good condition. The bottom dowels (rollers) are bone. Shipping is $15 by insured EMS express to anyw in North America and Australia, $18 to Europe. Payment by Paypal is preferred, but money orders can also be sent to my bank in the States.
