Japanese "Seven Gods of Good Fortune(Shichifukujin)" Original Oil Painting Framed.Japanese Shichfukujin (seven lucky beings) were popular group of deities during Japan's Edo period. They are very common in pictures and sculptures in Japan and they are either depicted by themselves or with their treasure ship.Each of the seven gods include:Hotei, fat and happy god of abundance and good healthJurojin, God of long lifeFukurokuju, God of happiness, wealth, and longevityBishamonten, God of WarriersBenzaiten (Benten-sama), Goddess of knowledge, art, beauty, and musicDaikokuten(Daikoku), God of wealth, commerce, and tradeEbisu, God of fishers or merchants, usually depicted while carrying a sea bream.All the seven gods were transmitted from India, China, and Hindu. Kichijoten, goddess of happiness, is sometime depicted together with seven gods, replacing Jurojin whenever such occurrence. Takarabune, (Treasure ship) is often depicted together with the seven gods and the tradition was that the seven gods will show up on the treasure ship and give out gifts to worthy people.Buyer pays shipping.
