This auction is for a genuine Japanese Shamisen Lute that has been restored to its original condition by our professional Shamisen maker in Tokyo. Fully functioning instrument which also can be used as a beautiful decorative ornament.

This auction includes a Silk Fabric Bag. 2 Silk Doukake for Both Sides (Resonator Box Protector), Bachi (Plectrum) & Saya (Plectrum Tip Protector), Extra Silk Strings, YubiKake (Finger Slider), Extra Koma (Bridges), Non-slip Hisa Gum Cloth, Polish Cloth, Non-Slip Doukake Gum for your wrist, and Humidity Absorber to protect your Silk Strings & Cat Skin. In addition, I'll include a Shamisen score book.

Completely refurbished for professional use. Rare Shitan (Age Rosewood), once more valuable than Kohki (Redwood) because its better in qood quality and takes longer to grow. NEW reskinned Premium belly CAT skin to match the vintage back one. The vintage is still in great working condition according to the shamisen maker, also belly Cat skin with nipple marks. Only Shitan & Kohki made Shamisen with Premium Cat skins are considered concert level.

The curved end of the neck, tenjin, is in flawless condition, topped with a tenjin cap. The Tenjin is important because if its broken or chipped, the Shamisen can not produce a good sound. The neck or sao is made from the shitan tree, while the body is made from karin.

This is a genuine Concert Level Shamisen that is ready to play and includes everything you need + a free score book. RARE too because they don't make new ones with Shitan wood anymore.
