This is Japanese sword in iai-do mountings. The blade is unsigned, o-suriage, shinogi-zukuri shape, muromachi period Ca.1550 era blade. The blade is in out of polish condition and has light rust on surface but nothing bad one. The temper line shows shollow choji with nie active temper pattern throughout the blade and has healthy deep temper at the point. The forging is tight itame hada and nothing loose grain. T is no bend, no nicks, no forging flaws, no rust, no crack and the cutting edge is razor sharp. The blade measures 26 1/4" cutting edge, 26 3/4" tip to the guard, 1 1/8" width, 7mm thickness at the notch and 36" in mountings. The scabbard is old urushi lacquered ishime-ji finish scabbard with no damage. The handle is tight fit with matched Edo period made gold inlaied syakudo fuchi /kashira with fish designed menuki. The tsuba is mokko shape old iron tsuba with nice patina. Shipping is $15 priority in U.S and $45 overseas via express mail. Accept pay pal, money order.
