This is Japanese sword in mountings. The blade is unsigned shinshinto, ubu nakago, shinogi-zukuri shape, late Edo period Ca.1800 era made blade. The blade is in old polish and has scratch from the age. The temper line shows wide gunome choji with nie active temper pattern throughout the blade and has healthy deep temper at the point. The forging grain is itame hada and has 1/2" ware (forging separation) in the surface. T is no bend, no nicks, no rust, no crack and the cutting edge is sharp. The blade measures 26 5/8" cutting edge, 1" width, 5mm thickness at the notch and 39 1/2" in mountings. The scabbard is old urushi lacquered scabbard with tassel in good condition. The handle is tight fit with matched Edo period made iron fuchi /kashira with copper menuki. The tsuba is iron tsuba with nice patina. This is very light weight sword and good for iai-do swing prctice. Shipping is $20 priority in U.S and $45 overseas via express mail. Accept pay pal, money order.
