Japanese lacquered round wood tray or charger. Carved with a beautiful grain showing through and a red and black lacquer leafy border. Trays like this were and are used for sweets in the Japanese tea ceremony. I can also easily see these being used at a Hawaiian Luau. I am not sure of the age of the piece, only that it is at least vintage if not antique. This piece along with other wonderful trays were part of a collection and purchased from an estate sale. The tray is in excellent condition with no damage. It is 15 1/2" in diameter and stands 1 1/4" high. It is not signed. Heavy, weighs about 2 1/2 lbs. International buyers must Please use calculator in ad to determine shipping charge. Please take a look at the other trays from the same collection! I will be glad to combine shipping. Almost all my auctions start at $9.99 or lower. This is not an indication of quality or value. It is to save on listing fees and give everyone a chance to bid that wants to. Thanks for looking!
