JAPANESE BARELY VINTAGE TEACUP WITH LID. I HAD A FULL SAKE SET LIKE THIS LAST YEAR AND I THINK BY THE SAME ARTIST. 'MIZU YOSHI TOEN'. A CRACKERJACK BAMBOO PAINTER.As usual with my finds, I try to find OLD, but brand NEW unused or very little used things and this appears the same. No Damage, no wear that I can see. Probably sitting in a closet since the wedding day. This is a great example. The cup is may be a little older than a 'Minion' so we think it is Barely Vintage. It matters not since they cup is in brand new condition no matter how old they are!! An absolutely elegant GROVE of NEW BAMBOO bursting forth and at exactly this time of year - SPRING. These are Fine Thin Hakuji Porcelain used for drinking fine Sake from. Also, since I figure this guinomi type holds enough Sake so you don't have to have the Minionettess running back and forth filling smaller sized cups for the members of the Kamitakada Yopparai Zoku! Of course you can also drink tea out of them if you want too - OR hot buttered rum in front of a blazing fire to ward off the chill of winter still lingering. The main thing it is Beautiful and extremely well done. Please check other items For Sale by me as I find nice things and sometimes VERY Strange and Mysterious things in Japan and know what to look for after 30 years Getting better at it too.
