This Japanese woodblock print is by Mamoru Hiyoshi. He was born in Toyoko and studied art with Okada Saburosuke and graduated from the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. In the early 1950's he designed brightly colored woodblock prints of Korean people and their customs. The prints were published by the Kyoto Hanga-in. Many of Mamoru's prints are signed in English as M. Hiyoshi. This print measures 15 3/8 inches by 10 3/8 inches. It is in very good condition. T is color bleed through on the reverse. The subject is Korean children playing at school. No reserve.
