Japanese WW2 50th Inf Manchuria Flag Kabuto Sake Cup

This auction is for a beautiful Japanese WW2 era sake cup. The bowl of the cup is decorated with a gold star, crossed Japanese & Manchurian Flags, and gold kanji. The kanji above the star reads "China Incident Victorious Return Commemorative" while the kanji beneath the flags reads "50th Infantry Regiment ". The kanji is crisp and clear. The outside of the cup is designed to look like a Japanese army helmet (kabuto) complete with star on the front. The base is formed with a pair of crossed rifles. The soldier's name, "Takeda", appears behind the tail of the airplane and is crisp and clear. T is also impressed kanji on the back of the cup that reads "Trademark Registered". The cup measures 2 1/8" X 1 1/8". T is a firing flaw to the lower right of the airplane. T are no chips, cracks, or repairs on this beautiful piece of Japanese military history. The cup is in EXCELLENT condition. The 50th Infantry Regiment was activated in Matsumoto on April 15th of Meiji 38 (1905) as part of the 13th Division. In Showa 19 (1944) the regiment was dispatched to Saipan and was stationed on Tinian Island. In July after heavy fighing on Tinian, approximatly 1000 soldiers from the regiment, including the Commander, conducted a "Gyokusai" or banzai charge. The regiment was wiped out except for 313 men who were captured. I will provide the winning bidder with a brief history of the 50th Infantry Regiment.
