For sale here is a beautiful WW2 Japanese NCO Sword. This sword is of very fine quality. The handle is tight, and appears to be a late war variation that was never painted. The crossguard area is marked with the Kokura Arsenal stamp along with 2 other characters. The sword fits perfectly and tightly into its scabbard. You just cannot believe how smoothly this sword goes into the scabbard. The locking mechanism works flawlessly. The blade is in excellent condition with only a trace of age greying speckled here and there. Though i cannot see it, i feel a tiny nick along the cutting edge of the blade. The tip is near perfect with only a slight amount of buggering that really cannot be seen without magnification. The workmanship and balance of this sword is phenomenal. The scabbard is also in wonderful condition and it retains over 85% of its orginal field green paint. There are no dings or dents to be found on the scabbard. Even the drag has escaped damage. All scabbard screws are tight and the sword drops into the scabbard effortlessly. The serial number of the scabbard is imprinted on the throat and is 14418. The serial number on the blade is 13854. Although this set is not numbers matching, it is still in remarkable condition from one end to the other. Any collector will love this piece, and it will add greatly to any collection.
