This is a really nice example of a Japanese officer sword from WWII with lots of character, a well marked tag, with all spacers (seppa) stamped with a "1" and a nice blade with some slight defects towards the end. Overall length is 40 inches when the sword is inserted into scabbard and the blade alone is 27 inches. What I've been told by others is that the markings on the tang indicate the following: Seki Stamp / Noshu Seki JU Nin Kanemichi Kin Saku / Date of: ni ju. What that all means I do no know, again I do not read this language and this is what I have been told so please see the photos and judge for yourself. The blade has a full wavy temper line on both sides, very slight amount of gray on the top or spine of the blade, a couple of fingernail catching dings about mid blade, and further dings/wear towards the tip (see pictures). Release mechanism and fully functional. The metal scabbard is fully covered with a wonderful brown leather cover that fits beautifully and adds a tremendous amount of character! This is not necessarily your untouched closet queen but a very nice example that oozes "been there" character and one to be appreciated by a true collector! See the following pictures and email questions and for better pictures if needed (these are compressed by hosting here and they do loose quality). I will also considers returns within 3 days at buyers cost and I will also consider shipping overseas at the buyers risk and cost. If you are an overseas/International buyer, please contact me about shipping, which will be at cost as required.
