Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers Donald Byrd (tp) Hank Mobley (ts) Horace Silver (p) Doug Watkins (b) Art Blakey (d) NYC, April 5, 1956 ORIGINAL 1958 COLUMBIA RECORDS MONO LP pressing, #CL 897 Deep Grooved on both sides. Matrix numbers end in 1-F & 1-J The vinyl is clean and glossy but for a few very light marks, just a handful of scattered light ticks throughout, a great and loud pressing with very minimal surface noise, very close to near mint. A great pressing! NM-The cover is VG, clean on the front with just a hint of ringwear, but water staining is noticed at the bottom spine corner, and the edges show heavy wear and are dingy looking, with a 3 inch split in the bottom middle, about 3 inches of the spine paper is really beat up with missing paper as well.
