Original Jean Calogero Painting Up for auction is an original oil on canvas painting by Jean Calogero. Calogero was born in Sicily in 1922 and worked in both Italy and France. He died in 2001. It is a beautiful Carnival outdoor scene. While his work in the 60s and later became more surreal, this work, more indicative of the early 50s style, has a distinctly Impressionistic feel. Canvas dimensions are 15x22 inches. Beautiful frame overall dimensions are 22x29 inches. The frame shows signs of age as seen in the close up photo but there is nothing missing. As is common with works by Calogero, there is no indication of a title or date on this painting. (an opportunity for the owner of the painting to name it whatever they want.) The color and style are extremely appealing. The photographs don't do this painting justice. Both frame and painting would benefit from a professional cleaning as it had been in storage for many years. There are no rips or repairs to the canvas. Please contact John Flynn at with questions.
