Many were life-long friends (like Irene Dunne, Jack Oakie, Lloyd Nolan), work colleagues (Nelson Eddy, Allan Jones, Maurice Chevalier, Woody Van Dyke, Ernst Lubitsch, Lew Ayres), political friends (President Eisenhower, Vice-President Nixon, Presidential candidate Barry Goldwater), acquaintances (Duke Ellington, Sophie Tucker, Thelma Todd) - and her many devoted and loyal fans.Jeanette MacDonald, Hollywood Diva, had a successful 8-film partnership with baritone Nelson Eddy, delighting Depression audiences with their lyrical singing in operettas by Rudolf Friml, Victor Herbert, Sigmund Romberg, Rodgers and Hart.
